Basic Life Support Coordinator
NEALS Basic Life Support Coordinator’s are minimally certified at the NYS DOH EMT-Basic level. Typical services of these coordinators include: equipment inventory and maintenance, scheduling, ambulance inventory, training, policy development, and program implementation. Additionally, the BLS Coordinators can monitor responses and program performance giving reports as requested by the agencies.
Advanced Life Support Coordinator
NEALS Advanced Life Support Coordinator’s are minimally certified at the NYS DOH AEMT-Paramedic level. Typical services of these coordinators include: ALS equipment maintenance, pharmaceutical inventory and ordering, response policies, system policies, credentialing ALS providers, scheduling, and program development. Additionally, the ALS Coordinators can monitor responses and program performance giving reports as requested by the agencies and medical directors.
Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Coordinators
NEALS QI/QA Coordinators are responsible for the standard of patient care in their assigned agency. These coordinators are responsible for reviewing pre-hospital care reports, individual provider performance, and chairing the agencies Quality Improvement Committee which includes submitting monthly reports to the Regional QI Committee. The certification level of the coordinator is based upon the EMS level of the agency.
